The New Jersey Federation of Dog Clubs (NJFDC) is dedicated to protecting the rights of all dog owners, promoting responsible dog ownership and ensuring that laws governing dog ownership and breeding are reasonable, enforceable and non-discriminatory.  NJFDC works closely with the AKC to promote responsible dog ownership and advocate for the welfare of dogs in New Jersey.

Public Education

  • Works with communities to establish Responsible Pet Ownership Committees to help improve the lives of dogs, owners, and their neighbors
  • Sponsors microchip clinics held in conjunction with town-run rabies clinics
  • Protects and advances the interests of dog owners by means of cooperation between members, the public, and legislators
  • Fosters education of the general public with respect to the proper selection, care, and maintenance of dogs and the responsibilities of dog ownership
  • Provides speakers for local groups interested in responsible dog ownership
  • Participates in Meet the Breed events to provide hands-on information about purebred dogs
  • Organizes a Lobby Day to educate the public and legislators about issues affecting dog ownership
